LPG
Product Features
LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) is either produced from a refining process of petrochemical plants, or extracted from petroleum or natural gas streams. When produced from a refining process, LPG is separated from the crude oil heated in a distillation tower by using different boiling points of each component. When extracted from petroleum or natural gas streams, it is pressurized and stored as a liquid as emerges from the ground. LPG is again subdivided into two forms of gases, C3 (Propane) and C4 (Butane).
Product Applications
Propane products are mainly composed of propane (C3H8), and a small amount of methane, ethane and butane is blended. They are mainly used for households and commercial cooking and heating, as well as for factories, pottery makers and farms, while supplied as a material to produce city gas.
Butane products are mainly composed of butane components such as normal butane (n-C4H10) and iso-butane (i-C4H10). They are primarily used for vehicle fuel as well as portable burner cans, heating fuels and industrial usage in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals, etc.
Light Naphtha
Product Features
Naphtha is a product that is produced from a crude oil refining process. Generally, naphtha is carbon compounds composed of 5-12 carbon atoms produced during the fractional distillation of crude oil. Depending on the number of carbon atoms, it is classified into Light Naphtha and Heavy Naphtha.
* Fractional Distillation: a method for separating crude oil into different products based on their relative molecular weight in a distillation
Product Applications
Light naphtha is a distillate which has a boiling point below 100℃. It is processed through the Naphtha Cracking Center (NCC) in order to produce products such as ethylene; the raw material of polyethylene and polystyrene, and propylene; the raw material of polypropylene, etc.
Jet-A
Product Features
Jet fuel appeared after World War Ⅱ, when the jet engine began to develop rapidly so that the fuel that effectively suits the engine was in need. Jet engines don't require high volatility and anti-knocking properties but require excellent combustion and startability, while the fuel filter should not be plugged due to low-temperature and low-pressure in high altitudes.
Product Applications
There are many kinds of fuels for aviation turbines, commonly referred to as jet fuels, but for the most part, they are divided into the gasoline and kerosene types. The gasoline type of jet fuel is JP-4 and the kerosene type consists of Jet A-1 and JP-8. As the JP-4 has high volatility, Jet A-1 is mainly used for the fuel of civil aviation. In addition, there are jet fuels for specific demands such JP-5 and JP-8 for military use.
Diesel
Product Features
HD Hyundai Chemical produces eco-friendly diesel that boasts as being one of the world's highest quality products with the lowest levels of sulfur, the main cause of air pollution. Diesel products produced by HD Hyundai Chemical went through advanced desulfurization facilities which assure superb ignition quality in engines and excellent startability with proper volatility.
Product Applications
More than 80% of diesel is used as a fuel for diesel engines, and the rest is used for heavy construction equipment, power generators, turbines and small vessels.
