HPC Plant

HPC (Heavy feed Petrochemical Complex) Plant is a highly advanced Plant that symbolizes the full expansion
of our businesses into the petrochemical industry.
Plant constructed on approximately 160,000 pyeong (530,000m2) of newly landfilled area is divided largely
into 5 zones. It is designed to achieve the optimal economic feasibility in accordance with the demand and supply
of raw materials/products and fluctuations in the market situations, etc.
We have secured the highest level of business competitiveness based on the synergy generated among
the competitive raw materials of HD Hyundai Oil Bank, and technological support and sales network of Lotte Chemical.

Ethylene Cracking Unit (ECU)

ECU is divided into Hot Section including pyrolysis process and rapid cooling process, and Cold Section including compression process and purification process. It manufactures products such as ethylene and propylene, etc., which are used as the raw materials for latter processes, through reprocessing after having subjected raw materials such as naphtha, T-DAO (Treated Deasparting Oil) and by-product gas, etc. to cracking.

Polyethylene Unit (LDPE, HDPE)

It is the process of manufacturing LDPE and HDPE as the final products by polymerizing ethylene manufactured through pyrolysis process by subjecting it to high temperature/high pressure reactor. Depending on the economic feasibility, LDPE process can manufacture EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate) as well. HDPE process can manufacture products with their respective strengths in accordance with the characteristics of each process by dualizing the company holding the patent thereof.

Polypropylene Unit (PPU)

It is a process of manufacturing products in pellet format through the catalyzer polymerization reaction by removing impurities from propylene manufactured in the pyrolysis process. Similar to the HDPE process, products with their respective strengths in accordance with the characteristics of each process are manufactured by dualizing the company holding the patent thereof.

Butadien Unit (BDU)

Butadiene and raffinate, a subsidiary product, are manufactured by extracting Mixed C4 manufactured in the pyrolysis process through distillation using solvent.
